Video Relay Service
Stratus Video holds a partnership with ZVRS, and with this we can offer a video relay service (VRS) for deaf and hard-of-hearing patients. VRS allows deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to have telephone conversations with hearing people. Using a videophone with real-time video connection, an interpreter relays the conversation between the two parties. This partnership enables us to give these patients the opportunity to place video phone calls to friends and family from inside the hospital – the equivalent of leaving a hospital phone on a patient’s bedside table. Most companies offer VRI, but Stratus goes above and beyond by offering VRS as well.
Use Any Device
Perhaps the most favored feature of our product among clients is the apps ability to be loaded onto any tablet, smartphone, computer, laptop, or video conferencing system. There is no need for our clients to purchase “special” tablets for our product. The app is device agnostic and thus protects each client’s investment. We recommend that our application is used on the Apple iPad, but our clients utilize laptop computers, workstations on wheels, Android tablets, and physician smartphones. The Stratus Stand
The Stratus Stand is the best of its kind and has many qualities that are unique compared to its competitors. Our stand is sturdy and locks the tablet in place so there is no need to worry about it falling over. It also has an attachable speaker to make sure all information is heard loud and clear. The sturdy, weighted base makes our device easy to move, and the locking head helps prevent theft. The stand makes it feel like the interpreter is there in the room with you. Video Call Centers
If you manage your own staff interpreters, Stratus can help you improve the efficiency of your interpreting staff and reduce your costs by implementing a Video Call Center (VCC) at your hospital or at one of your interpreters home. This will give you the ability to use your own interpreters for video interpreting sessions. If your interpreters are not available, the video call will roll-over to Stratus Video interpreters. And, since Stratus is in-the-cloud, you do not need a large investment in on-premise equipment to make this happen.
